Woww!! Ramyam!
Many interesting details in the whole write-up. One among them is the drawing of Vamana teaching Bali (the one from Wellcome library, Londone, 1672). It is very obvious the drawing wasn’t made by an Indian. The kireeta of the king is all wrong in the sense that it is like what a European king might wear. And also, people in the background seem similar to people from Mughal era. 😅
And, this also makes me think how little I know about the prominent festivals in India. The write-up inspires me to revisit and understand more about Indian festivals.
The political distortions of the festival leaves me with a bitter taste and sadness though 😦
